Miami avoids Bowl ban: The Miami Hurricanes avoided getting banned from a bowl game but they still had some consequences to face. According to Joe Schad of ESPN, Miami will lose three scholarships annually over the next three years, and the entire athletic program has been placed on probation for three years as well. On the basketball side, Former Miami basketball coach, Frank Haith, has been suspended for the first five games of the following year. He is now the head coach for Missouri.

Jets/Pats saga: The Jets beat the Patriots 27-24 but it wasn’t all fun and games. Controversy surrounded the game as the Patriots got called with a penalty for illegal pushing on field goals. We now know why they called this unusual penalty. The Jets were looking for it! Sources told ESPN.com, that the Jets were looking for it and told the refs before the game. They have seen in previous games, that the Patriots have done that play before and it was not called. Rex Ryan, head coach of the New York Jets, declined to comment on the matter. 

Report: Michael Vick to return, start Week 8: According to multiple reports, Michael Vick will return this weekend and WILL start for the Eagles vs. New York. Nick Foles started the past two games but got injured on Sunday at the end of the third quarter. Matt Barkley, rookie from USC, came into the game and threw 3 picks in the loss to Dallas.
